Home / Physiotherapy Blog / News / Fit to Deliver – Pain during Pregnancy

Pregnancy is one of the miracles of life and can be an extraordinary experience.  It can also be an uneasy and uncomfortable experience and sometimes there is pain that seems to increase over the course of the pregnancy for some women.

The prevalent message from many doctors and health specialists, excluding Physiotherapists, is that this pain will go away when the baby has arrived and for now, just live with it.  This is not often true.

In my clinical experience I have encountered many women who have received this message and have sought out help regardless of this advice.  And under the guidance of our experienced Registered Physiotherapy experts at East Gwillimbury Physiotherapy have received the benefit of this guidance.

Each woman has an individual set of history, an individual body make up and alignment and an individual lifestyle and occupation and can improve their current pain level regardless of the pregnancy.  Of course being pregnant is also a major consideration in the approach to Physiotherapy treatment, however, the whole person is taken into account in delivering the plan to alleviate the symptoms within the first assessment with the registered Physiotherapist.

We treat each case with an expert eye and sensitivity to these differences.  Physiotherapists are also primary care practitioners, meaning we can be accessed without a Doctor’s referral.

East Gwillimbury Physiotherapy treatment and services are easily accessible from Newmarket, Bradford, East Gwillimbury, Aurora and Tottenham.
